Australian Zoo, church/dinner, club

I woke up at 7:10AM and headed down to grab some breakfast. We were served pears, nectarines, cereal, toast, juice, and milk. It was a very stable breakfast! Good thing because today would be a big day! I repacked my backpack and boarded the bus at 9 to go to the Australian Zoo. It took about an hour and 20 minutes to get there. Today's weather looked nice though---lots of sun!
The zoo was gigantic--such big exhibits with far more land! I got up close and per Koalas, kangaroos, snakes, crocodiles, red pandas, and fed the elephants. We went to many shows throughout the day---went to an otter show, the huge Crocodile show---had snakes, birds, and crocs in it, and fed kiwis and cucumbers to 2 elephants. I got to pick a food item from this big bucket and the elephant would take it right from my hand with its trunk leaving nothing but slobber.
The zoo had tons of Steve Irwin memorabilia and was a very interactive, hands-on zoo which I really enjoyed. The zoo had a shuttle---long train basically--which we rode to get to the far back exhibits. We also had a picnic lunch inside the zoo too. Around 430 we decided to head back to the hotel.
The Avila invited me to attend church with them and the Landons (Dani's parents). We  were dropped off at St. Stephens which was beautiful church and service. Then we were starving so we stopped at a local restaurant only a couple blocks from the church. Dr. Avila spotted one with outside eating and it was a great pick! I had Fettuccine Marinara with scallops, shrimp, calamari, mushrooms---mmmmm delicious! Kate, professors daughter, and I wanted ice cream so on our back we grabbed some from McDonalds. Both McDonalds and Hungry Jacks (much like Burger King) always have $.50 cones----best cheap treat!!
After ice cream we hiked back to the hotel, I showered and got ready to go out with the other students! I met the students outside the hotel, we got a few maxi taxis to take us to the downtown area where we would find Family--a bar suggested to us. However, i was stepped because I was in flipflops and couldn't enter with them. Colin and Rory stayed with me outside, tried a couple more times to get me in, but all efforts failed. We went to a couple bars called Tempo and Mustang which we fun---had good music, but because there were only three of us together and the bars were starting to charge covers, we decided to head back to the hotel.
I was really mad I didn't have the right shoes on---it was a huge disappointment after hurrying to get ready. We met up with three other students and walked back to the hotel together. None of us knew where we were so we just guessed a general direction and surprisingly made it back. I talked with some students who returned shortly after, and waited in the hallway to make sure all the students came home safely. I got really tired around 2:30 and couln't keep my eyes open so I just had to go to bed. Cami joined me tonight since some of the students got a little wasted and were climbing into each others beds so Cami lost her bed to another student and came to sleep with me. I passed out right away and didn't wake up until the next morning!
