This morning I took a bike down the beach and up to the more private beaches with Colin C. The tide was low luckily. We cruised down the beach and then uphill for the rest of the ride, finding many smaller, more private beach and coming across a pasture of cows! This path was mostly gravel and cement and entirely uphill. I stood up for most of the ride. This time we past Whites Beach (entrance was a downhill path-where I explored last time I went down there) and kept heading uphill. We past another beach entrance but nothing else really. We continued on for another 5 minutes or so and then turned around. Now the way down was way easier---all downhill! This way was far less difficult. The difficult part was now biking back on the beach, the wind was at our front making the trek home a bit more challenging.
The afternoon clouds broke up and it turned sunny---time to catch some rays!
I also decided to design a t-shirt for the students before they leave so I put some ideas together and got a few of the students opinions. I am hoping they get done before we all leave, which is only a week and a half away---it is going way too fast!
Volleyball games were played all today---unfortunately my team took a loss....better luck next game!
Tonight I booked the start of my New Zealand trip---got a free van rental from Jucy (This company looks for people to drive their cars and vans from Auckland to Queenstown) and this is where the group I am traveling with wanted to go so it works out nicely. I also booked a plane ticket---now we are just looking up adventurous glacier hikes, mountain hikes, hot spring pools, skydives, and bungee jumps. Lots to plan and little time to do so!! Very excited to explore yet another country, but sad to be leaving this one!
Today I also got to talk to my family whom I miss so much! I can't wait to see everyone back at home in three short weeks!
The rest of the night I got some work done, finished the t-shirt design, and then it was time for bed!
