This morning I did a Max Sport Interval workout---had basketball, track, gymnastic, and football training. Again I have never sweat this much in the US ever---I am just constantly dripping--I know thats gross to share but I can't believe how much I sweat here. We used the new gym which was just recently opened---big basketball court and workout facility inside--As we were working out, I noticed some windows in the court were open and i saw a huge green monster! It was big and green and hairy and it had wings like a gigantic bird!!! i was terrified.....but I was strong and conquered my fear of birds and stabbed the hairy green bird monster in the heart with the sword i had in my back pocket. whew... glad i made it through that one....talk about a good workout! (I walked away from my computer for 2 minutes and I get this crazy story from my dear friend Cami----hahahaha)
Anyways the real story is that as we were working out, two Magpies flew into the basketball court. Luckily I was in the gym part with doors closed because I started to get really nervous. There were two that flew in and they were walking and flying around, making me really apprehensive. I was very grateful for Colin because he scared them away from the door and also opened the door after they starting squawking to let them out. I was very relieved when they flew out.
When I got back to my cabin, I showered and made some left-over french toast with peanut butter and bananas----mmmmmm delicious!!! I also skyped Marinna and Amy!
Then I went off to Byron Bay, the small shopping town about 20 minutes away, to get some more souvenirs and make a grocery run for more family dinners which are planned for this last week here. Byron was jam packed with people---this week and next week are the local schools holiday-schools here are all year round but they have holidays throughout the year for two weeks at a time breaking up the year. So these two weeks randomly are one of those holiday weekends--along with Good Friday which is their Easter here.
After a couple hours shopping in Byron, I returned to the cabins and went back to my paper.
The weather today was on and off rain, but stayed remotely humid. The entire day was dark and dreary which made me want to nap all day, but there so much to do in so little time---only 6 days left!
I got a great lift in later in the evening, had a delicious sweet potato and corn on the cob for dinner, wrote more of my paper and then headed off to bed. What a busy Monday---my last Monday in AUS :(
