This morning, Colin and I did 2 Insanity workouts---Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs--we had been slacking on the weekends since we were traveling so this morning kicked our butts hard! It felt great getting back into routine and kicking my butt. It was right off to Australian Life and Culture with Lyn after the workout. I learned about Australian film, poetry, and movies today. The top three box office movies in AUS were "Crocodile Dundee", "Australia", and "Babe". Popular music in AUS in the 50s,60s, and 70s were the Beegees. The during the 90s more rock, punk, and pop mix became popular featuring Screaming Jacks, Kylie Monoque, and Powderfinger (very popular country band). Then in 2000s--music became a huge teenage market-- Savage Garden was very popular. Lyn played a lot of songs and short clips of films throughout class which everyone enjoyed!
After class, I took a few students to the grocery store. Once I started driving it started to pour! It was coming down hard and fast----it was very bright and sunny this morning so I never expected the rain but it hit rather suddenly however lasted less than an hour, mostly hard rain and drizzling trading on and off.
Once the clouds cleared it was time to play volleyball and start up the matches. I won this week with my team of Cami, Misha, and Austin. We go to Round 2 tomorrow!
After my game, I went to the gym for a little while to strength train and then had to return and help out for group dinner--it would be sloppy joes and mac&cheese tonight! Cami made some with a spicy sauce and some with a sweet sauce. It was not my favorite, but it sure served a lot of people---with tons of left-overs for tomorrow! The night ended with a short meeting and then it was off to my cabin to catch up on homework! This week is going so fast and I have so much to do! The time in AUS is so limited now, every minute counts!
