It was sprinkling this morning again, but I went for a run anyway. Only 40 minutes but I took it uphill to the roundabout----these are things the Australians use to keep traffic going. I have only seen a few stop lights on main highways and one stop sign. Australians don't believe in stop signs because they waste so much gas. I love this idea and I dislike stop signs anyway! There are only "Give Way" signs which is equivalent to a yield sign in the U.S. At the roundabout there are 4 streets coming to one circle and I just have to wait for clearance on the right side to go---its much like 8 Corners back at home, however, I go to the left around the circle and exit on the left side.
Anyways, I ran uphill to the first roundabout probably only 1.5 miles away and then through town. The rain felt pretty to be honest, but it was still pretty humid. I found a gym on my way back but it was pretty expensive to join so I went back to my cabin and had some oatmeal and a banana for breakfast. The bananas are getting very very expensive here because much of the fruit was destroyed by the cyclone which hit 2 days ago along the Northern coast. I believe they are AUS$3.99/kg and continuing to rise---Danielle is not going to be eating many bananas then.
Because it was pretty rainy and gross out, I decided to do all my homework today.
It rained the entire day boo! After working for 4-5 hours, I had to get out if the cabin so I went for an Ocean walk and found Tyler and Matt. We walked down the beach together, but I realized it was Tuesday---Tuesday is buy one get one footlongs---so we went back and biked to Subway.
When we got back to the cabins, Abby and I made chicken tacos and chicken taco salads and then we researched places for our trip to New Zealand--I know its early but just trying to plan ahead!
Tonight in our cabin we played Taboo with a huge bunch of students.
